Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Treatment

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Treatment

What is PRP?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Human blood consists of several components, including platelet rich plasma (PRP) which is full of growth factors that repair damage in the body. In a PRP treatment, a medical professional obtains a blood sample from the patient, the blood is then placed into a centrifuge, which separates the blood and Platelet-rich plasma can then be harvested. PRP can be injected directly into the skin or can be applied topically to the skin when coupled specifically with microneedling.

Why Platelets Rejuvenate Skin

Platelets are the cells in the blood that help tissue to heal and grow new cells. The PRP, injected into specific areas of the skin, act as a matrix that promotes your own collagen to grow, regenerates tissue, and thus acts as to naturally smooth and tighten the skin. In this way, PRP softens wrinkles and creating smoother skin texture and tone. Scientific studies dating back 30 years have documented that PRP grows new collagen when injected into the skin, and newer studies show that PRP can soften sun damage and aging skin issues. Is this your skin issue?

  • Are you noticing dark circles and puffiness under your eyes?
  • Are you seeing fine lines and sagging around your mouth, cheeks, and eyes?
  • Is your skin tone just not as bright, healthy, and firm as it used to be?

RESULTS AND RECOVERY AFTER PRP THERAPY

Patients typically notice an immediate glow, you will be able to see improvements within 3 weeks of treatment, and your skin should be much firmer and smoother.

Further improvements can be expected in the months that follow.

You may experience minimal swelling and bruising vary from patient to patient but vary from just a few days up to a week after treatment, but this is minor and will subside.

Almost no downtime is required, and there is very little risk of any side effects as your own plasma is used in this natural treatment.
