Vishnu Harikumar, MD, is a board-certified medical and cosmetic dermatologist in St. Petersburg, FL and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. His practice blends dermatologic and aesthetic science with meticulous technique to provide his patients with healthy and beautiful skin.
Dr. Harikumar completed the competitive 6-year BA/MD program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He also pursued a year-long prestigious research fellowship in cosmetic dermatology at Northwestern University under the mentorship of Murad Alam, who is Chief of Dermatologic and Aesthetic Surgery and President-Elect of the American Academy of Dermatology.
Dr. Harikumar then completed his dermatology residency at the University of Miami, where he received a rigorous and comprehensive training in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. During his residency he sought out additional scholarship. He spent time studying tropical diseases at the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil. He also learned under experts in cosmetic dermatology at Harvard University. He has published numerous scientific manuscripts in top medical journals including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, JAMA Dermatology, and the Journal of Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr. Harikumar enjoys community services and annually volunteers with DOCS performing skin checks. He also enjoys teaching and mentoring medical students and dermatology residents. When not in the office, he enjoys reading classic literature and biographies, playing with his pup, Remy, and exploring restaurants in the Tampa Bay area.
