Gail V. Smith, APRN, FNP-C
Gail Smith is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with nearly 20 years of experience specializing in medical dermatology. She is known for providing compassionate, thorough, and patient-focused care that helps individuals achieve and maintain healthy skin at every stage of life.
Besides caring for patients at Visage Dermatology, Gail currently provides dermatologic care to residents in long-term care and assisted living communities across Pinellas County, diagnosing and treating skin cancers, rashes, and infections while working closely with wound care teams to promote optimal healing and comfort.
Before moving to Florida, Gail spent nearly two decades in private dermatology practices throughout Connecticut, where she cared for patients with a wide range of skin concerns—from routine conditions to complex disorders. She has extensive experience performing skin cancer screenings, biopsies, and lesion treatments, and has utilized advanced therapies including phototherapy, laser treatments, and biologic medications.
Dedicated to patient education, Gail has volunteered at melanoma awareness events and regularly speaks about sun protection and early detection. She has also served as an Adjunct Faculty Member at Central Connecticut State University and a Guest Lecturer at Sacred Heart University, mentoring future nurse practitioners in the field of dermatology.
Gail earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Sacred Heart University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southern Connecticut State University. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and licensed to practice in Florida and Connecticut.
Outside of her clinical work, Gail is passionate about lifelong learning, mentoring, and empowering patients to take an active role in their skin health.
